Custard is delicious for all ages and is easy to make when you let the oven do all the work. It could be made with vanilla paste, or you could always flavour it with fruit by adding a Bubs Organic Baby Food Pouch to the mix. You could stir it through, squeeze it on top or even on the side for your little one to mix together themselves.
Recipe
Makes 8
- 500ml water + 10 scoops of Bubs Australian Goat Milk Toddler Drink
- 3 eggs
- 1 egg yolk (extra)
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 150°C. Make up the formula according to the instructions on the can.
Step 2
Now heat the goat milk in a small saucepan over high heat until it’s hot but not boiling. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, extra egg yolk and vanilla until well combined. Take care not to over whisk because air bubbles in your custard may affect its creamy texture.
Step 3
Gradually add the hot goat milk to the egg mixture, stirring well to combine. Pour into a 3.5 cup capacity ovenproof dish or 8 small ramekins. Place the custard into a deeper baking dish. Pour in enough boiling water to the baking dish so that it comes halfway up the sides.
Step 4
Bake for 45 mins and remove from the oven. It should feel ‘just set’. If you’d like to add the fruit pouch, squeeze it over the top of the custard and return to the oven for another 15 minutes. Enjoy warm or cold.
